Virginia – Delores M. Long, 82, of Virginia, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at her residence.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Range Funeral Home
Delores Mae Long was born on November 7, 1935 in Gatzke, to Erwin and Emma (Johnson) Heaton, the youngest of 4 children and was a twin. She attended school in Gatzke until she was 12, at which time she moved to Thief River Falls and graduated high school at the age of 17. She worked numerous jobs in a wide range of occupations, tending to work at least two jobs at a time.
Delores liked coffee, dancing, softball and baseball, laughing, reading, and spending time with family. She was a spirited person and an independent woman who enjoyed adventures, flea markets, and buying and selling on Ebay.
Delores is survived by her children: Debra Ranum, Janet Koskela, Maureen (Rodney Cameron) Ranum, Charlotte Rolling, Paula Ranum, Robert (Jenny) Long; 19 grandchildren, 15.5 great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Wardwell; twin brother, Dale Heaton; numerous nieces, nephews, many friends and loved ones
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Emma; brother, Wallace Heaton; sons-in-law, Robert Koskela and William Weese; brother-in-law, Wilson Wardwell; and sister-in-law, Patricia Heaton
