The Pennington County Board has appointed an interim county attorney. At its meeting Tuesday, Jan. 23, the County Board appointed Seamus Duffy as interim county attorney pending a criminal background check.
Duffy will start his new job Wednesday, Feb. 7. County Board set his salary at $105,000.
Duffy will fill the remainder of Al Rogalla’s term, which expires Dec. 31, 2018. Rogalla resigned earlier this month to become the Clearwater County attorney.
Duffy will have the opportunity to file for the four-year Pennington County seat during the November 2018 election.
Duffy currently works in private practice in Thief River Falls. He was among two candidates interviewed for the interim position. The other candidate was from Minneapolis, according to Commissioner Don Jensen.
