Thief River Falls – Bud Cameron, 73, of Thief River Falls, died peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Visitation will be from 9 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Bud Cameron was born on April 11, 1944 in Red Lake Falls, the son of George and Violet (McMartin) Cameron. He was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian faith. He attended Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls.
Bud entered into service with the United States Army in 1960 and worked as a truck driver stationed both in Vietnam and Korea.
Following his Honorable Discharge in 1964, Bud worked as a truck driver for several companies including S & S Construction, Evans Steel, American Crystal Sugar and Northern Pride where he retired from in 2009.
On July 30, 1966, Bud was united in marriage to Sharon Leigh Peterson in St. Hilaire. To this union two sons were born: Todd and Troy. Following their marriage, they lived in Red Lake Falls for a few years and in 1972 moved to Thief River Falls where they have continued to reside.
Bud enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting casinos, camping, filling his wood stove, being in the outdoors and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his sons: Todd Cameron of Thief River Falls and Troy Cameron of Fisher; grandchildren: Dylan, Alex and Daphne Cameron; and many other relatives and friends.
Bud is preceded in death by his wife in 2011; his parents; sisters: Annie, Mae, Marie, Dorothy, Donafer, Pearl and Bonnie and brothers, George, Archie and Donald.
