\\" Brooks – Ronald Peterson, 61, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
  Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, January 23, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Oklee,  with Father Kleinwachter presiding. Interment was held at St.  Joseph’s Cemetery in Brooks.
 Ronald Peterson was born December 12, 1944, son of Helmer and Esther (Martinson) Peterson, on the family farm near Lake Bronson. He was baptized into the Baptist faith and at the age of 7, Ron moved with his family to Erskine. He worked on the family farm and as he grew older, he worked for Frank Neyes on the farm and also for other area farmers. 
  On June 8, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to Jeanette Berberich in Seattle, Wash. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1968. He served his country in Ft. Lewis, Wash., and also in Germany. He received his honorable discharge in 1970. While in the military, Ron joined the Catholic Church. Jeanette died May 17, 1989.
  Ron was married to Carol Bright for a short time. Early in the 1990’s, he worked as a mechanic for Thibert Chevrolet.
  He ran the Standard Station and on October 22, 1999, he joined Ann Hince in marriage at Brooks.  For 25 years he worked for Oklee School District as a mechanic and bus driver. He also farmed. In 2001, Ron started his own scrap iron company, which he called “Ron’s Recycle” and was active in the company until his death.
  Ron was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Oklee and a member of the Plummer American Legion. He was a devoted family man. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Western’s on TV. He also liked playing card and games.  Ron’s favorite quote was, “Hardly Matters.” Ron had a very easy going personality.
  Ronald is survived by his wife, Ann of Brooks; six children, Doug (Janeen) Peterson of Prior Lake, Jamie (Wendy) Peterson of Oklee,  Brian (Alette) Peterson of Oklee,  Michael Peterson of Oklee, Tracy (Kurt) Sundquist of Oklee and Troy Peterson of Karlstad; two step-children, Pamela Dack of Bloomington and Troy Meyer of Kindred, N.D.; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Dennis Peterson of Hallock,  Ardyce Levenhagen of Lake Bronson, Arlene Dorr of Erskine,  Lois (Herb) Johanneck of Red Lake Falls and Lowell Peterson of Erskine; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette and second wife, Carol; his parents; brothers-in-law, Charles Levenhagen and John Dorr. A00003B2006JA25″
