LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATES SCHOOL SAFETY RUMOR

On Monday morning, Thief River Falls law enforcement was notified about a rumor regarding school safety in the Thief River Falls School District. Law enforcement notified the district and started an investigation. They determined there was no credible threat to the safety of students and staff.
“Working collaboratively, law enforcement and school district identified the source of the rumor and the students who were involved,” Superintendent Brad Bergstrom said in a message to district parents Monday afternoon. “Based on its investigation, law enforcement found that a small group of high school students shared an inappropriate text message with each other. The students shared the text message in jest and did not intend to harm anyone and or to cause alarm.”
