TRF girl struck by drunk driver

A Thief River Falls girl was struck by a drunk driver early Sunday morning in rural Pennington County.
Through a source other than law enforcement, The Times learned that teenager Mariah Bugge was struck by a vehicle.
Sheriff Ray Kuznia said the accident was reported at 1:47 a.m. Sunday at a gravel pit in Section 19 of Norden Township. He said Bugge was struck by a vehicle driven by Marcus Lynch, 20, Thief River Falls.
Bugge underwent surgery Monday at a hospital in Fargo, N.D. Kuznia said an investigator was expected to interview her Tuesday and obtain her medical records as part of the investigation.
Lynch was booked into the Pennington County Jail on a charge of fourth degree driving while impaired. Kuznia said the accident remains under investigation and he thought that the County Attorney’s Office may charge Lynch with something other than fourth degree DWI. A booking photo wasn’t available as of presstime Tuesday morning.
