Margaret Jenny Collin was born as a Christmas gift December 25, 1928 and went home to heaven October 8, 2018 at the age of 89 while at home in Blaine, surrounded by family members.
Celebration of Life service will be Friday, October 19th at Vertical Life Church, 7600 Humboldt Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55444. Viewing at 1 p.m. Service at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Funeral Chapel, 5125 W Broadway Ave, Crystal, MN 55429.
Margaret grew up in Wallace, MI, graduated from Northwestern College in Minneapolis where she met her husband, Gordon Collin, and lived for many years in Newfolden.
Margaret had a deep commitment to her Christian faith. She was a gentle, kind woman who dearly loved her family. She embodied love, acceptance, forgiveness and grace. Margaret loved to quilt, garden, was a jeopardy expert, scrabble queen and card player.
Margaret is survived by 6 children, all from the Twin Cities: Kathleen, Merilee (Art Quallo), Cheryl, Lynette, Brad, Gordon JR (Cindy) and daughter-in-law Kim with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by Rodney and Mary Collins, sisters-in-law Millie, Esther and Marilyn Collins plus many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Margaret is preceded in death by husband, Gordon, December 21, 2015, parents Anna and Walter Fisher, brothers Robert and Walter, sisters: Lola, Gertrude, Caroline, Helen and Susan all from Michigan, and grandson Matthew Collin.
