Norbert “Bert” Weisse passed away on September 12, 2019 in his home at the age of 54.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service.
Bert was born September 5, 1965 in Gelnhausen, Germany. At a young age he moved with his family to Killeen, Texas, where he grew up and attended school. He was united in marriage to Lori Leskiw on April 17, 1987 in Thief River Falls, where they lived and raised their family.
Bert worked for Northwest Medical Center before opening and operating Northwest Computer Services for approximately seven years. He began working for Digi-Key Corporation in 1997 as a software engineer and remained employed there until his passing as a Director of New Program and Supplier Logistics.
Bert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and dogs. He had a passion for cooking, grilling, and loved planning and serving holiday meals. He was known to make “the best omelettes ever”.
Bert also enjoyed tinkering, technology, movies, and relaxing with his Sunday crossword puzzles. He also loved to travel whenever he got the chance.
Bert is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lori, of Thief River Falls; sons Josh (Anastasiia) Frazer and Ryan (Morgan) Weisse; three grandchildren, two nephews, two nieces; mother, Margaretha Mabry and her special friend John Howard of Killeen Texas; brothers Wayne Weisse and Michael Mabry of Killeen, Texas.
Bert was preceded in death by his stepfather Earl Mabry, both paternal and maternal grandparents, and brothers-n-law Rodney and Ronald Leskiw.
