David Barth of Greenbush, formerly of Warroad, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at his home in Greenbush.
The memorial service was held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls.
David Anthony Barth was born October 1, 1956 at Breckenridge, son of Raymond and Bernice (Schillinger) Barth. He was raised at Campbell where he attended grade school. In 1969, at age 13 the family moved to Thief River Falls, where David graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975.
On July 28, 1978, David married Lori Ann Hamre and to this union three children were born: Andrew, Erica and Justin. On February 14, 1998, he was united in marriage to Lois Wagner Dalager.
David worked at Hydra Mac for 10 years, Schwann’s Sales for one year, Glendenning Transfer for two years, Marvin Windows for 26 years, Hegstad Farms for ten years, and nights and weekends at the Thief River Falls Eagles.
David was a member of the Thief River Falls Eagles Club; he enjoyed woodworking, working on projects for himself and others, playing cards, Farkle and cribbage. He also enjoyed playing the accordion, deer hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lois of Greenbush; mother, Bernice Barth of Thief River Falls; children: Andrew (Amie) Barth of Karlstad, Erica Torstveit of Detroit Lakes and Justin (Katie Krause) Barth of Brooklyn Park; step-children: Steven (Kathy) Aronson of Roseau, Danette (Kevin) Palmer of Fergus Falls, Trina Gust of Greenbush and Trudi (Brian) Hexum of Roseau; grandchildren: Ethan, Hailey, Emily Barth, JD, Blaine, Rylan Torstveit, Jaxon Kulzer and Amelia Barth; step-grandchildren: Hunter, Gunner, Jace, Shaina Gust, Sam, Nate Palmer, Harlee and Wyatt Aronson; siblings: Gary (Ruth) Barth of Apache Junction, AZ, Clifford (Krista) Barth of Breckenridge, Pamela (Tom) Oscarson of Red Lake Falls, Michael (Marilyn) Barth of Rapelje, MT, William Barth of Viking, Dale (Marguerite) Barth of Thief River Falls and Annette (Jerry Kappes) Barth of Thief River Falls; sister-in-law Lisa Barth of Edgar Springs, MO; mother-in-law Bernice Wagner; sisters-in-law: Val (Larry) Nesteby, Karen (Norm) Opdahl, Sandy Olson, Patty Wagner, Clarine Wagner; brother-in-law Bruce Wagner; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
David is preceded in death by his father Raymond Barth, brother Glen Barth, granddaughter Michelle Barth, brothers-in-law: Roger, Leroy and Wayne Wagner.
