Richard (Dick) Odegaard, age 82, of Fargo, ND, died on October 13, 2019 at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by his loving family, and assisted by Hospice of the Red River Valley.
The services were held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo, ND. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Fargo, ND.
Dick was born on March 18, 1937, the son of Morris A. and Gladys (Vigness) Odegaard, in Thief River Falls. He attended Lincoln High School and was in the Army National Guard.
Dick was united in marriage to Patricia Schelhorn from Bemidji. He worked in Fargo for Commercial, Reger Red Owl and Gibb as a journeyman electrician. Dick was a long time member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Dick enjoyed spending weekends at Star Lake, pontooning and socializing with friends. Dick also kept busy at the farmstead by Walcott, ND with projects, and showing his 1936 Chevy Pickup, “Little Red” at car shows around the region.
Dick is survived by his wife, Patricia; his son, Mark Odegaard; his daughter, Pamela Fehrenbach; his grandson, Shaun (Amanda) Fehrenbach; and two great-grandchildren, Ayonna and Camden. Also surviving is his sister, Gloria (Dick) Schlechter of South Dakota; and his nephews, Steve, Rob, Scott, and Brad Jorstad and Jason Schelechter.
