Connie Lorena Olson was born June 8, 1947 in Hallock, the daughter of Luverne and Ineta (Patrick) Olson. She grew up in Lake Bronson. Connie was very active in high school, she was a cheerleader, homecoming queen, attended girls state, and graduated with the class of 1965. She then went to Vocational Tech School in Thief River Falls for business.
From the moment Connie laid eyes on Duane Nelson she knew he would be the man she would spend the rest of her life with. On June 4, 1966, Connie was united in marriage to Duane L. Nelson in Lake Bronson. They lived in Thief River Falls, and to this union two sons, Chad and Stuart, and one daughter, Holly, were born. In 1972 the family moved to a country home near Plummer. Connie enjoyed her time as a housewife and mother. She also volunteered as a Bible school teacher, helped with Boy Scouts, and Women’s Aglow Christian Fellowship, as well as other activities. After her children were older, Connie worked as a Nanny for two very special little girls.
Connie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, writing, going for rides, and especially being a support to others in need. She was a very kind, caring, sweet, understanding and forgiving person. She enjoyed sharing her faith and spirit with friends and even strangers.
