Jeanne Williams, 86 of Thief River Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls.
The service to celebrate Jeanne’s life was on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
Jeanne Marion Tygeson was born October 24, 1933 in Fosston, the daughter of L.L. and Marion (Vaaler) Tygeson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended school in Fosston, Crookston and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls with the class of 1951.
Jeanne was united in marriage to Richard Williams and to this union four children were born, Mary Jo, Janet, Bob and Bruce. They lived in Minot, ND for a short time before settling in Thief River Falls where Jeanne continued to live the rest of her life.
Jeanne worked as a transcriptionist in medical records at the clinic in Thief River Falls for many years and in her later years enjoyed volunteering for many different organizations including Sanford Gift and Coffee Shops.
Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, going to aerobics, going out for lunch and playing at the casino. She was lovingly known to many as “Sports Jeanne” because she loved all sports and especially loved watching her kids and grandkids play sports.
Jeanne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls where she was active in various activities and groups and was also a member of the Noon Lioness Club.
Survivors include four children, Mary Jo Williams of Oakton, VA, Janet (Rick) Myers of Thief River Falls, Bob Williams of Denver, CO and Bruce (Sandra) Williams of Thief River Falls; grandchildren: Casey (Travis) Norris, Brett (Ashley) Reed, SaVanna Housey, Aaron Myers, Ethan Housey, Lily Williams; great-grandchildren: Hailie Reed, Emma Reed, Tucker Norris, Mason Reed, Chase Norris, Tegan Norris, Sophia Busse; cousin, Dick Thorson, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1976; parents; grandson, baby Williams; and brother, Jerry (Jean) Tygeson; sisters-in-law: Shirley Tygeson, Teckla Willett, Agnes “Marie” Williams Long; brother-in-law, Ed (Lori) Williams.
