Mateo Jesus Morales peacefully passed away in his parents’ arms at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at St. Mary’s Campus at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, at the age of 15 months.
The funeral service was held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
Mateo Jesus Morales was born to Sara Timm and Jesus Morales Jr. at 1:48 p.m. on April 9, 2019 at Sanford Hospital Thief River Falls. He weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz with thick black hair and a Mongolian spot on his back. He also had two swirls of hair on his head, which is said to mean they will be troublemakers.
Mateo was so loved, and loved everyone and doing everything. His favorite things to do included being outside, swinging, going down the slide, and being on his bike. He was always a happy little boy who shared smiles with everyone he met. His favorite candy was Reese’s Fastbreak. He loved drinking momma’s milk and water, and food that daddy cooked, especially rice. Mateo loved to play by himself or with whoever he could. He was a spitfire who always climbed and got himself into trouble.
Mateo is survived by his parents, Sara and Jesse; half-brother, Carter Morales; grandparents: Esmeralda and Enrique Flores (Rio Grande City, TX) and Shane Timm (Newfolden), Heidi Thompson (Thief River Falls) and David Morales (Brownsville, TX); aunts: Kjersten Timm (Fargo, ND), Jasmine Oviedo (Rio Grande, TX); uncles: Justin Timm (Thief River Falls), Desi and Elias Oviedo (Rio Grande, TX); great-grandparents: Paulette and Jerry Moyer (Thief River Falls), Renae Timm (Newfolden), Angelita Arguelles (Red Lake Falls), Dale and Barb Thompson (Isante); and great great-grandmother: Betty Thompson (Thief River Falls).
Mateo was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Ron Timm, Evaristo Arguelles, Jesus G. Morales and Maria C. Morales.
