Arleen Folger, of Grapevine, TX, formerly of Thief River Falls, passed away at the Grapevine Medical Lodge in Grapevine, TX, on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at the age of 88.
Services will take place at a later date.
Arleen Forseth was born September 2, 1931 at Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Richard and Ruth (Palm) Forseth. She was baptized at Grand Forks Lutheran Church and confirmed at Detroit Lakes Lutheran Church. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1949.
On November 26, 1952, Arleen was united in marriage to Dale Folger at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. She taught school in Hawley and Sisseton, SD and moved to Thief River Falls in 1956, where she taught school at Northrup Elementary. After retiring in 1958, she stayed home to raise her family.
Arleen was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed sewing, but most of all enjoyed being with family.
Survivors include Arleen’s husband, Dale, of Grapevine, TX, formerly of Thief River Falls; children: Joel McQueen Folger (Becky), Grapevine, TX and Tammy Folger-Sutter, Vicksburg, MS; three grandchildren: Kayla (Patrick) Keenan, Amanda and Brayden; one great-granddaughter, Landry Paige Keenan; brother, William (Marge) Forseth, Bemidji; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Arleen was preceded in death by daughter, Suzanne; parents; siblings, Richard “Deed” Forseth and Shirley Lynch; brother-in-law, Donald Lynch; sister-in-law, Eleanor Forseth; son-in-law, Wayne Sutter.
