Shirley A. Morken of Thief River Falls, formerly of Ross, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the age of 88.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Interment took place at Pinecreek Cemetery in Ross.
Shirley Bishop was born on July 26, 1932 in Crookston, to Sara (Rodman) and Charles Bishop.
On April 3, 1948 Shirley married Norman Morken in Roseau. The couple made their home in Ross where they farmed. She was a homemaker and a farm wife, taking great pride in caring for her family and helping others. She would always have candy orange slices at home for when her family came to visit. She enjoyed going for coffee with Norman and visiting all of her many friends.
Shirley spent 13 years at the Thief River Care Center, where she enjoyed volunteering. She was given an award and recognized for her love of service.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and her son, Roger.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Irene (Delbert) Lee; daughter, Betty Morken; daughter-in-law, Catherine Morken; and granddaughters: Rachel Lewis, Naomi Morken and Traci Morken; great-grandchildren: Anastasia, Adalyn and Allison Lewis.
