Thief River Falls – Rhonda Lindsey passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at her home in Thief River Falls surrounded by her loving family.
Rhonda Lindsey was born on September 19, 1951 in Thief River Falls, daughter of Andreas and Esther (Webber) Gausen. She was raised in Thief River Falls and attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1969. She moved to Chicago, IL, where she lived for a couple years when she moved to Houston, TX, then to Dallas, where she worked for Mercantile Bank. She met Durwood Lindsey, the love of her life, who she spent many years with. In 1994 the couple made their home in East Grand Forks and moved to Thief River Falls in 1996, where they have since resided.
On October 14, 2004 they were united in marriage in Deadwood, SD. Rhonda worked at Digi Key for 16 years, retiring in 2013.
Rhonda enjoyed spending time at home, and being with family and friends. She loved the TV shows Mom, CNN, MSNBC, Lets Make A Deal, The Price Is Right and Ancient Aliens. She was a part of the DNC and donated to the ASPCA.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Durwood “JR” Lindsey Jr. of Thief River Falls; children, Brent (friend Daisy Blizzard) Comstock of Plummer, Jessica (Jonathan) LaFever of Thief River Falls; step-children, Christi (friend Wade Grindeland) Lindsey-Stephens of Thief River Falls, Joshua Fain of Thief River Falls; grandchildren, Ashleigh Gilmore, Zachery Comstock, Ashton Comstock, Crysi Dawn Comstock, Kaidyn Comstock, Emileigh Comstock, Onya Jayne Parsons, Bentley Garner LaFever, Katelyn Stephens and Farryn Fain; great-grandchildren, Elijah Hutson, Zara Kai Gilmore, Alan Joseph Comstock; brother, Danny (Loydelle) Gausen of Warroad; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Glenda Gausen, Larry Gausen; great-granddaughter Jaycee Wells; sister-in-law Karen Gausen; nephew Marty Gausen; cousin Gary Gausen.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
