Minneapolis – Ryan Bendickson, 43, of Minneapolis, formerly of Thief River Falls, passed away suddenly from natural causes on Monday, May 3, 2021 at his residence.
Ryan Eric Bendickson, son of Dennis and Susan (Stokke) Bendickson, was born September 5, 1977 in Thief River Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Ryan attended school at Mark Twain Elementary, Franklin Middle School, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1996. He then attended Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls and the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management.
Ryan made his home in the Twin Cities area where he worked at various places including as assistant manager at Walgreen’s, an inventory analyst and buyer for Regis Corporation, and Target Corporation.
He enjoyed playing baseball and football in high school and baseball in college. Throughout the years, Ryan has also enjoyed boating, bike riding, running, photography, following the Twins, Gopher football, Gopher basketball, UND hockey, and especially tailgating at Vikings home games. He had fond memories of a mission trip to bring Bibles to China. Ryan was a quiet man, had a subtle sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Ryan is survived by his parents; aunts, Barbara (Dennis Berndgen) of Brainerd, Karen (Gary) Berg of Bagley, MN; uncles, Robert (Ginger) Bendickson of Surprise, AZ, Tom (Jodi) Bendickson of Thief River Falls and Todd (Ann) Stokke of Winona; cousins, Richard (Connie) Bendickson, Michael (Carlene) Bendickson, Benjamin (Tiffany) Berg, Brady (Samantha) Berg, Brandon Berg, Kelly (Steve) Gaida, Aaron Bendickson, David (Allee) Berndgen, Michael Berndgen and Steven (Sara) Berndgen; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Deloris Bendickson and Harvey and Vernette Stokke; and cousin, Spencer Stokke.
The service to celebrate Ryan’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Darrel Cory officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
