Thief River Falls – Everett Leroy Marshall, 82, of Thief River Falls, passed away peacefully at Villa St.
Vincent, Crookston, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
Everett was born on September 17, 1938 to Alfred and Lucinda (Stelck) Marshall at Sebeka. He attended school in Sebeka, graduating in 1956. Following graduation, Everett began college at Bemidji State University, where he met the love of his life, Diane Ryan. In 1962 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with emphasis in Speech, Theatre, and English.
Everett then accepted an English Teaching position at Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls, and was united to Diane Ryan in marriage on August 25, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Crookston. They moved to Thief River Falls, where they made their home. To this union, their two children, Aaron David and Rachael Ann, were born. He taught at Lincoln High School for 33 years, and after retiring he worked at Arctic Cat Inc. as an editor for the next 15 years. Everett’s second retirement allowed him to spend time enjoying his home, yard, and Diane’s company.
Everett was active in the Thief River Falls community throughout his adult life. He was involved with community theater, directed plays, coached the high school debate team, and stage-managed the events taking place in the High School Auditorium. An avid reader, Everett was interested in American literature and history, enjoyed watching all sports- especially baseball, driving his cars, and taking road trips with his family. He was best known for his crossword puzzle skills and his sense of humor.
Everett is survived by his children, Aaron (Stephanie) Marshall of Eagan, and Rachael (Enoch) Evenson of Thief River Falls; sisters, Janette Olson, Hoyt Lakes, Valda Levander, Allendale, MI, and Beverly Walter, Tulsa, OK.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane; and his parents.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Burial will be held at a later time at Green Hill Cemetery at Sebeka.
