Fargo, ND – Donna Kotaska, 92, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Thief River Falls, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Fargo, ND.
Donna Marie Foerster was born February 10, 1929 at home in Eden Township, ND near Conway, the daughter of Joseph and Marcella (Coughlin) Foerster. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. She attended grade school at Conway and graduated from Walsh County Agricultural and Training School.
On June 10, 1947 Donna was united in marriage to John B. Kotaska.
She was an active member of St. Bernard’s Church, Thief River Falls. Donna liked sewing, crocheting, knitting and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed going camping and fishing with her family. She also liked researching family trees and had traced some back to the 1700s.
Donna is survived by children, John C. (Eileen) Kotaska of Thief River Falls, James A. (Ronnie) Kotaska of Atlanta, GA, Catherine J. Morken of College Station, TX, Theresa A. (Terry) McCollum of Bejou, Mary A. (Rob) Asheim of Fargo, ND and Joseph D. (Shelley) Kotaska of East Grand Forks; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John on April 4, 1995; daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Victoria Idovich; granddaughter, Rose Kotaska; and sisters, Shirley Morstad and Joanne Sluke.
Mass of Christian Burial took place on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church, Fargo, with Father Paul Duchscherer presiding. Burial was at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Conway, ND.
