Aberdeen, SD – Kenneth Lee Konickson, 65, of Aberdeen, SD, died Friday, November 12, in Aberdeen.
Ken was born December 14, 1955 in Thief River Falls, the son of Gust and Alice (Wright) Konickson. Ken attended Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls, graduating with class of 1974. After high school he attended Thief River Falls Vo Tech, obtaining a degree in Agriculture. He continued to work on the family farm until 1985 when the farm was sold. He moved to Thief River Falls and obtained his insurance license and sold insurance for few years.
In 1989 he moved to Aberdeen, SD and obtained his Real Estate Appraiser’s license and performed those services for many years, along with other business ventures. He retired last year due to health concerns. On September 20, 2003 he married the love of his life, Kristine (Frohling) Konickson. They made their home together in Aberdeen, SD, along with their 4 legged fur family.
Ken was known for his sense of humor, huge heart and willingness to help anyone out when they needed it. He was an avid Vikings fan and enjoyed tending to his gardens and pets.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kris of Aberdeen; siblings, Don (Karen) Konickson of Plummer, Steve (Helen) Konickson of Thief River Falls, Julie (Larry) Bohling of Aberdeen, SD, Dave Konickson of Aberdeen, SD; mother-in-law, Marilyn Frohling of Hecla, SD; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Duane) Horras of Thief River Falls, Nikki (Dave) Lunsetter, Dan (Lacey) Konickson of Red Lake Falls, Tanner Bohling, Hunter Bohling, Gannon Bohling of Aberdeen, SD, Hannah Bohling of Sioux Falls, SD, Tysen Konickson, Trevor Konickson of Aberdeen, SD; great nieces and nephews, Zach (Manda) Jessen, Mattias Jessen of Thief River Falls, Erik Jessen of St. Cloud, Aiden Martell, Alaina Lunsetter, Anna Lunsetter of Red Lake Falls, Max Konickson, Adley Konickson of Red Lake Falls; great-great nieces, Emery Jessen, Claire Oschner; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Konickson; father-in law, Norman Frohling; nephew, Austin Martell; and great-nephew, Treyson Konickson.
Memorial services for Kenneth were held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home in Aberdeen, SD, with Pastor Sara Sorensen officiating.
