Thief River Falls – Luella Arveson, 100, of Thief River Falls,  formerly of Trail, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls.
Luella Hanson was born March 4, 1921, the daughter of Hans H. T. and Anne (Homme) Hanson, the youngest of five children, on the Family Farm in Hickory Township, Pennington County.  She was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Trail.  She attended Pleasant View Country School and the A. C. in Crookston for two years.  Following school she worked at Mercy Hospital in Thief River Falls and later at Tweet Food Store in Grand Forks, ND.
Luella was united in marriage to Clifford Arveson at the H. T. Hanson home, January 6, 1946.  Together the couple lived and worked on the Arveson Family Farm until they moved to Thief River Falls on September 11, 2001.
Luella enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, canning, and she loved family get-togethers.
She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Trail, and was active in its Ladies Aid.
Luella is survived by two sons, Dale (Candi) of Mountlake Terrace, WA and Gene (Evon) of Trail; two grandsons, Bryan Arveson of East Grand Forks and Craig Arveson of Mound; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford in 2003; brothers and sisters, Gertrude Christianson, Sanna Brovold, Harry Hanson and Walter Hanson.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, rural Trail, with Rev. Jeffrey Merseth officiating. Burial will follow in the Nazareth Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church.
