Thief River Falls – Ashley Kay Burton, 38, and unborn baby boy, Troy George Jones, of Thief River Falls, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, December 3, 2021.
Ashley was born on September 6, 1983 in Alva, OK, to Jobi and Toni (Kaml) Burton. She was raised in Oklahoma and Minnesota.  In 2001, Ashley received her High School Diploma from the Thief River Falls School District.
Over the years, she worked a variety of jobs and for a long time, was employed at Arctic Cat.  Most recently, she was employed at Legends Sporting Goods. She was also a creative bartender at Carpenter’s Corner.
In 2008, she had the New Year’s Baby, Joshua Lee Brockhouse. Ashley and Josh were more than mother and son; they were best friends. They loved thrift shopping, box sports, video games, playing with Legos (they went to Lego Land together in 2019), being with family, watching movies together, and eating Domino’s pizza.
In 2020, Ashley and Cory Jones became an item and were expecting baby Troy in January of 2022.
Ashley was a people pleaser, sarcastic, peacekeeper, painfully honest, straightforward, had a great sense of humor, and loved everyone.  She was a “Rock” to her family and friends. Ashley was also a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. She was everyone’s favorite aunt because her nieces and nephews never knew what kind of adventure they were going on when they were with her. She had a tremendous work ethic and was able to learn new skills easily. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, girlfriend, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Ashley and baby Troy are survived by her son/brother, Joshua Brockhouse, Middle River; mother, Toni (Kaml) Burton, Warren; siblings, Cobi (Heather) Burton, Thief River Falls, and Danelle (Chad) Burton, Thief River Falls; nephews and nieces, Blayke (Mya), Rylee (Brendan), Camdyn, Brody, Abbigail, Cass, Ayden, Chase, and Iris; significant other and father, Cory Jones; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jobi; step-mother, Sharon; uncle, Bill Fuller; grandparents; special aunt, Lori; and cousin, Samantha.
A memorial service will be held at Epiphany Station on Saturday, January 15, 2022. Visitation is at 1 p.m. and service takes place at 2 p.m.
