Thief River Falls – Meri Jo Loeffler, of Thief River Falls, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2022 at her residence at Johnson’s Riverside in Thief River Falls, at the age of 68.
Meri Jo Loeffler was born on March 15, 1954 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Elgin and Gladys (Bakke) Loeffler. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Meri graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972.
As a young adult, Meri became a resident of Johnson’s Riverside while there she worked regularly at the ODC.
Meri enjoyed arts and crafts, Bible study books, and prayers and devotions. She also enjoyed frequent trips to the Dairy Queen, going out to eat, field trips, and many social group outings. Spending time with her cat, PJ, was a favorite pastime of Meri’s.
Meri will be remembered as an easy-going, happy, and content person. She was a very gentle and kindhearted person. She will be greatly missed by her family, and residents and staff of Johnson’s Riverside.
Meri is survived by her brothers, Wayne Loeffler of Floral City, FL, Bob Loeffler of Thief River Falls, Tim (Kristine) Loeffler of Thief River Falls, and Tony Loeffler of Maple Grove; nieces and nephews, Heather, Brody, Briane, Jeri Lynn, Natalie, Bobbie Jo, Shane, Cory, and Kjelsy; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Nicole; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
A visitation will take place one hour prior to the memorial service on Sunday at Johnson Funeral Service.
