Thief River Falls – Darrin Grindeland, of Thief River Falls, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND with his loving family by his side.
Darrin Thales Grindeland was born October 4, 1972 in Thief River Falls, son of Thales and Paulette (Larson) Grindeland. He was raised in Thief River Falls and attended Our Saviors Christian Academy. In his high school years he worked at Jim’s Steammatic and Wilson’s Car Wash. Following his graduation Darrin was employed at Arctic Cat where he worked for 20 years. Due to health issues Darrin was forced to end his employment.
Darrin enjoyed his dog Buddy, attending car shows and always had a very nice pickup. He spent many years helping restore a 1970 Dodge Charger with his dad, visiting with his friends on social media, as well as going out for supper to visit. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He helped take care of his mother, niece and nephews whenever he could.
Darrin is survived by his parents, Thales “Babe” and Paulette Grindeland of Thief River Falls; brother, Wade (Christi) Grindeland of Thief River Falls; niece, Katelyn; and nephews, Chandler, Kadin, and Tucker; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Darrin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Alice Larson and Clarence and Gertrude Grindeland; aunt, Patty; and uncle, Jack.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with Pastor Curtis Jacobson officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home in Thief River Falls.
