Modesto, CA – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Dyrseth of Modesto, California, on October 3, 2022 at the age of 75.
Born in Thief River Falls to Carl and Dorothy (Clausen) Dyrseth, and raised on the family farm in Grygla, John dedicated his life to both his pursuit of his work and his family. He graduated from Goodridge High School in 1965, and during college in 1967 John met his wife Karen, with whom he went on to have three children. Also in 1967, John started his first job with Forsberg’s, Inc. This began his career in the material separation industry, and he would eventually serve as Forsberg’s Vice President of International Sales.
In 1987 John’s career took him and his family from Minnesota to Modesto, California, where in 1989 he founded San Joaquin Systems. John successfully operated the business for 33 years, until his passing.
In his personal life, John was an avid reader and sports fan, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
John was predeceased by his son, Craig Dyrseth; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Dorothy Dyrseth; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Charles Kettleson; brother-in-law, Jim Nelson; and brother-in-law, Don Conely.
