Newfolden – Geraldine “Gerry” Lindemoen, 90 years, 11 months, and 10 days old, of Newfolden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Geraldine Mae Lindemoen was born on January 1, 1932 in rural Argyle, to Arthur and Lucille (Laurin) Landreville. She was the oldest of five siblings. Gerry was baptized and confirmed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle.
Gerry was raised on a farm just northwest of Argyle. Gerry went to the parochial school and then to high school. She met and dated Lowell Lindemoen in her later years of high school.
Gerry and Lowell were married on October 10, 1950 at Argyle and were married for 58 years. The couple moved many times, living in rural Radium, rural Thief River Falls, Hallock, Lancaster, Viking, and Newfolden. In October of 1972 Lowell and Gerry made their last move to the “Old Art Swan Farm” west of Newfolden.
Besides raising eight children and being a farmer’s wife, Gerry also worked at Arctic for over six years. She was also one of the bookkeepers of the farm. They were active in the NFO organization for many years. They were fortunate to travel a lot and winter in Mesa, AZ. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Middle River. She enjoyed making meals for “her boys,” even till 88 years of age, loved to read books, do crossword puzzels and flower gardening.
Gerry was able to live on her own in her home, making it to 90 years old. Then in January of 2022 she moved to the Karlstad Nursing Home. For some months, she was able to be at the assisted living part.
Gerry is survived by children: daughter, Susan (John) Nelson, Norman (Linda) Lindemoen, daughter, Bonnie (Pidgy) Bengtson, Merlyn Lindemoen, daughter-in-law, Carla Lindemoen, Mike (Sue) Lindemoen, Allen (Sheila) Lindemoen, and Randy (Kari) Lindemoen; one brother, Roger (Marilyn) Landreville; and one brother-in-law, Earl Trickel; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; along with cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; son, Keith; and daughter-in-law, Terri Lindemoen; and grandson, Kennis Lindemoen.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Middle River. Burial followed the service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Middle River.
