Red Lake Falls – Deborah Derouin of Red lake Falls passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at McIntosh Senior Living.
Deborah Parker was born on March 31, 1961 daughter of George and Marlys (McEnelly) Parker at Grand Forks, ND. The family moved to Red Lake Falls, graduating with the class of 1979. Deb went on to college to become a botanist. She moved to Fargo and worked for Jackpot Gaming for a time. She moved back to Red Lake Falls.
On October 17, 1992, she was united in marriage to Tom Derouin. Shortly after their marriage they relocated to Red Lake Falls where Deb worked for the last 27 years as a licensed insurance agent for Red Lake County Insurance.
She enjoyed working with the public, she spent countless hours donating her time at the American Legion where she was active in the Legion Auxiliary serving as president several terms. Deb had a personality bigger than life and a heart of gold.
She is survived by her sister Karen & Jon Huhn, nephews Connor & Garrett, Brothers-in-law Dan & Pat Derouin, nephews Bryce, & Tiffany and children, Tyler & Erika and children, Niece’s Janae & Jill, Sister-in-law Judy & Bob Weiland, nephews Andy & Joseph, Nieces, Alissa & Andy Law and children, Becky, Ray & Lynette Derouin, and niece, Bethany. Charles & Annette Derouin, Nephew Tony, and Niece Carly.
Deb is preceded in death by her husband Tom, parents George and Marlys Parker, Aunt Colleen (Mayor) Holen, uncles James and William Parker and Bobby Johnsrud, nephew Ian Holen, cousins Vicky and Jerry Johnsrud.
Memorial service was held 11 a.m. on Friday January 20, 2023 at Community Hall in Red Lake Falls with Reverend Jeffrey Lytle officiating. Burial was held at Oak Grove Cemetery near Red Lake Falls. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the Community Hall. Lunch followed the burial at the American Legion Club in Red Lake Falls.
