Newfolden – Merlyn Lindemoen, of Newfolden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, at the age of 67.
Merlyn Lowell Lindemoen was born on November 22, 1955 in Thief River Falls, the son of Lowell and Geraldine (Landreville) Lindemoen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Merlyn attended Marshall County Central School, graduating in 1973.
In 1977 Merlyn met Terri Anderson on a blind date. On March 11, 1978 they were united in marriage at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush. Throughout the years they moved to different locations around Newfolden, settling on their farm where they raised their children, Eric and Ann.
Merlyn farmed with his brothers and they went custom combining for many years, starting in Oklahoma and working their way home to harvest their own land. He hauled beets for Transystems for a number of years.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, driving his ranger around looking at crops, watching online machinery auctions, western movies, and having coffee and breakfast with friends at the Nu Moon Café. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Any monies received will be donated to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Merlyn is survived by his children, Eric Lindemoen (Jennifer Kuhn) of Newfolden, and Ann Julin (Uriah) of North Pole, AK; grandchildren, Mekalia (Tyler), Natalie, Benjamin, Autumn, Jax, Ella, and Legend; great-grandchildren, Lainey Lyberg and Baby Lyberg due in July of 2023; siblings, Susan (John) Nelson, Norman (Linda) Lindemoen, Bonnie (Pidgy) Bengtson, Mike (Sue) Lindemoen, Allen (Sheila) Lindemoen, and Randy (Kari) Lindemoen; sister-in-law, Carla Lindemoen; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Terri; son, Kennis Lindemoen; parents, Lowell and Geraldine Lindemoen; brother, Keith Lindemoen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kennis and Lila Anderson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Middle River, with Father George Noel presiding. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Middle River.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Middle River. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to Mass on Friday.
