Holt – Norma Dahle, of Holt, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, with her loving husband at her side at Karlstad Healthcare Center, Karlstad, at the age of 88.
Norma Faye Horien was born on February 16, 1935 in Holt, the daughter of Leo and Ida (Hagglund) Horien. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Norma attended elementary school in Holt for the first eight years. She then attended Newfolden High School, graduating in 1953.
On April Fool’s Day in 1953 Norma met Clifford Dahle in St. Hilaire. The couple fell in love and were married on October 9, 1953 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt. Together they made their home in Holt, eventually moving one mile north to the family farm where they have since made their home. Norma loved living on the farm, raising cows, sheep, and other animals.
Throughout the years Norma worked for Robertson Bros. Potato Farm, Arctic Cat, and Home Health Care for Inter-County and Marshall County.
Norma enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to her weekly trips to the Shooting Star with her husband and meeting many new friends. Traveling with Cliff to Branson and Graceland were trips she cherished. Elvis Presley was Norma’s idol.
Norma was a lifelong member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and member of the Ladies Aid.
Norma is survived by her husband, Clifford of Holt; children, Christi Halbasch of Thief River Falls, Lori Frericks (Tom McCauley) of Thief River Falls, and Jeff (Deanna) Dahle of Holt; grandchildren, Kia (Oak) Vichaikul of Thief River Falls, Brian (Tiffany) Halbasch of Park Rapids, Lacy Dahle (Ryan Restemayer) of Bemidji, Ashley (Paul) Hejlik of Thief River Falls, Josh (Ashley) Dahle of Holt, and Blake Halbasch of Monticello; great-grandchildren, Aliya Hejlik, Ali Roberts, and Shae Halbasch, Kal and Emi Vichaikul, Brooklynn, Brennon, and Briggs Dahle, and Layla, Kennedy, and Lincoln Restemeyer; siblings, Robert (Barb) Horien of Thief River Falls, Bonnie Peterson of Middle River, and Mary (Jim) Swan of Thief River Falls; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ida Horien; siblings, Lucille (Lawrence) Hams, Howard (Jan) Horien, Donnie Horien, Jerome Horien, Leon Horien, Lincoln Horien, and twins Richard and Roger Horien; great-grandchildren, Destiny Kilen and Gannon Hejlik; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, with Rev. Sheila Michaels officiating. Burial will follow at the Holt Cemetery in Holt.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the church.
