Thief River Falls – Garrett Qualley, 21, of Thief River Falls, passed away on Thursday April 13, 2023 at his residence.
Garrett Lee Qualley was born on November 3, 2001 in Thief River Falls, son of Kyle and Jolene (Fallon) Qualley. He was raised near Plummer and attended school at Red Lake County Central graduating in 2020. Garrett worked for Northern Crank Shaft, worked with his father in construction, he worked with Ray Kuznia on the snow crew and farmed with his Grandpa and Uncle Brian, and at Pizza Hut. He was currently employed at Digi Key as Residence Maintenance Technician.
Garrett enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, snowboarding and snowmobiling, making crazy trips to the boundary waters and Lake of the Woods by himself at times and also with his friends. He was always planning his next adventure. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a very unselfish person who loved to be with his family and friends.
Garrett is survived by his parents, Kyle and Jolene Qualley of Plummer; sister, Tera Qualley (Jesse O’Brien) of Thief River Falls; niece, Fiona O’Brien; grandparents, Bernard and Renee Fallon of Plummer, and Curtis and Bonnie Qualley of Erskine; several special aunts, uncles and cousins.
Garrett is preceded in death by all of his great-grandparents.
Funeral for Garrett will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Reverend Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery at Plummer.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, starting at 5 p.m. and ran until the prayer service at 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, and will also be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Tri River Pioneers in Plummer.
