Thief River Falls – Richard Rude, Thief River Falls passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Villa St Vincent, Crookston,
Richard Wayne Rude was born November 12, 1944 in Thief River Falls, the son of Clifford M. and Fay M. (Bucholz) Rude. He was baptized December 24, 1944 and confirmed June 28, 1959, both at Bethel Lutheran Church, Grygla. He attended Grygla grade School for 7 years, and then attended Grygla East country School. He graduated Goodridge High School, Goodridge, graduating in 1963. For 3 years he attended Crookston Agricultural College, Crookston and then 2 years with Aakers Business School, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
He was employed with Frigidaire Manufacturing, St. Cloud.
Richard enjoyed researching family history, watching sports, including basketball, and was a huge Minnesota Twins fan and bowling. Most of all he loved spending time visiting with family and friends.
Richard is survived by LuAnn (Duane) Lusignan, Laurel Swanson, David (Jade) Rude, Julie (Les) Trandem all of Thief River Falls; nieces and nephews Jay (Molly) Lusignan their children Chase and Cali, Tracy Hallstrom her children Jesse and Gabrielle, Jill (Joe) Blankenfeld and children Samantha Johnson and Emily Linehan, Michael Swanson his children Jacob and Kayli, Michelle (Brian) Benitt and children Megan, Eryn and Keegan, Jeremy (Sam) Swanson and children Livi, Scarlett and Porter, Rachel (Duane) Rude, Jennifer (Dan) Berggren and children Alison, Haddie and Luke, Jordan (Stephanie) Bauer, Zach Bauer, Lauren (Trevor) Bastian. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Harvey Ness, great-nephews Grady Benitt and Henry Bastian.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday July 5, 2023 at Abundant Life Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Leroy Flickinger officiating. Burial will be held at St. Olaf Cemetery near Grygla.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Bucholz, Bob Bucholz, Zach Bauer, Morrie Stenberg, Jeremy Swanson, Jay Lusignan and Jennifer Berggren.
