Anoka – Karen Anne (Aaseby) Nelson, 81, of Anoka, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Karen Anne Aaseby was born on June 20, 1941, to Alvin and Carmen (Windmueller) Aaseby in Thief River Falls.
She married Stuart J. Nelson on July 2, 1960, and together they had three children, Susan, Paul, and Brian.
Karen is survived by her husband, Stuart; daughter, Susan (Tim Bielke) Revering; sons, Paul Nelson and Brian (Mary Sue Snider) Nelson; brothers, Allen C. Aaseby and Jon (Suan) Aaseby; grandchildren, Alicia (Ben) Kniefel, Andrew (Sara) Revering, and Chrissa (Tim Kiczula) Revering; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Blake Kniefel, Khloe and Kailey Revering, and Brianna, Madelyn, Mikayla, and Brooklynn Kiczula; nieces and nephews, Theresa (Steven) Swendra and Allen P. (Brianne) Aaseby; great-niece and great-nephews, Alexis Peloquin, Carter Swendra, and Julian Aaseby; the Nelson Family, and many other family members and friends.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin in 1979; and Carmen in 2018.
A visitation to share memories, hugs, and light refreshments will be held from 2–3 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls.
Karen’s family will lay her to rest at Greenwood Cemetery following the visitation.
