Vergas – Marcus “Mark” Courtney Little IV, age 75, of Vergas, went to be with The Lord unexpectedly on Friday, November 3, 2023.
Mark was born June 25, 1948 to Marcus III and Margaret (Ciecmierowski) Little in Owatonna. He was the second of four children. He went to school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from Washington Senior High with the class of 1966. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy, on March 18, 1967 in Sioux Falls. Together, they had two daughters: Paula and Angela.
Mark had a wide variety of skills and knowledge and experienced many occupational successes throughout his life. He started his work life as a TV repairman before spending two years in the military. During his 28-year career at Kmart, he managed several Kmart stores until he made the switch to insurance sales, which he continued to do up until his unexpected passing. He built a life he was proud of, one that reflected his values of hard work, faith in The Lord, integrity, and an incredible love for his family.
Mark was a proud and doting father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a heart for helping those in need, and his generosity was unmatched, though he never desired the credit and often gave secretly. Mark was known for his big presence that would fill a room, along with his booming laughter. He loved connecting with others through his talent for telling humorous stories.
Mark also showed his love for people by helping foster children and hosting foreign exchange students in his home with his wife. Mark always preferred to share his blessings with others. He was quick to open his home up to others who would marvel at his basement, which he remodeled into a home theater and 50’s diner. Regardless of life’s circumstances, Mark modeled a life of faith.
Mark is survived by his two daughters: Paula (Darin) Foster of Fergus Falls, their daughter Alyssa (Eben) Danielson of Fargo, and their children Briella and Leland, and Angela (Andy) friend of Cedar Rapids, IA, and their children A.J., Courtney, and Kaylee; two siblings, Twila (Michael) Sullivan-Owens and Sue Walker; and his sister-in-law, Julie Little.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy; and his brother, Nick Little.
Visitation will be held from 4–6 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, continuing an hour before the service at the church.
