Red Lake Falls – Wayne Otto Schultz, Sr. passed away on December 22, 2023, at the age of 92 in Red Lake Falls. He was born on October 23, 1931, in Grafton, ND. Wayne was a hardworking, respectful, and no-nonsense type of man who took deep pride in these qualities.
Wayne served in the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1958, where he demonstrated his dedication and commitment to his country.
Throughout his life, Wayne pursued various careers, showcasing his many talents. He owned his own Road Construction Company, Wayne Schultz Co., and also worked in production at Arctic Cat. However, his true passion lay in farming. Wayne engaged in a variety of farming activities, including dairy and beef cattle, goats, and pigs. He found immense joy in working on his farmstead.
In his leisure time, Wayne enjoyed anything that took place on his farmstead. It was a place where he could find solace and happiness.
Wayne Otto Schultz, Sr. will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his dedication to his family and country, and his love for farming. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, respect, and a deep connection to the land.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joanne J. Schultz; and their children, Wayne Schultz, Jr. and Spencer Schultz; granddaughters, Melissa and Nicole the daughters of Wayne (Alicia), Mica, Avery and Finley the daughters of Spencer (Jami); and Wayne’s great-grandchildren: Hunter and Kaosidy children of Melissa (Cody); Khristopher, Tylah, Olivia and Jameson children of Nicole (Mack).
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 13, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Community Church International of Thief River Falls.
