Radium – Wilbert “Willie” McGregor, 88, of Radium, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in North Star Manor of Warren with his family by his side.
Wilbert Donald was born on July 23, 1935 in Hennepin County, and was adopted when he was two years old by William “Ray” and Martha (Knoll) McGregor. He was a lifelong resident of Comstock Township, Marshall County. Wilbert attended McGregor School through the 8th grade and Warren High School with the Class of 1953.
One winter Willie worked for Boeing in Washington State. After returning home, he met and then married Phyllis Mae Nelson at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls. The young couple made their home on the family farm in Comstock Township where Wilbert farmed, raised and showed his Registered Polled Hereford cattle for many years.
He worked for Enbridge Pipeline for seven years. He and Phyllis enjoyed wintering in both Apache Junction, AZ and Emporia, KS.
Willie was a member and officer of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Radium and he was active with 4-H. Willie enjoyed dancing, and watching Nascar racing and the rodeo.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of over sixty-four years, Phyllis; four children, Donald (Kathy) McGregor of Radium, Martha (Howard) Bjorgaard of Jamestown, ND; Ronald (Crystal) McGregor of Twin Valley, and Mark (Laura) McGregor of Stephen; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna (Wayne) Clouse of Gunnison, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Martha McGregor.

The funeral service for Willie will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 2 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church of Warren, LCMS. Rev. Chris Rosebrough, presiding.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening, May 28, starting at 5 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m., at Zion Lutheran, Warren.
Interment (after lunch): Comstock Township Cemetery, Marshall County.
