Red Lake Falls – Michele (Shelly) Brennan of Red Lake Falls, originally from Thief River Falls, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, at the age of 70, at Hillcrest Senior Living, Red Lake Falls.
Shelly Brennan was born May 14, 1954 in Thief River Falls, daughter of Darlene (Dolly) Dahl Davidson and John Brennan. Robert Davidson soon married Dolly and they raised their six children together in Thief River Falls. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She lived her life for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Shelly graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972 and went on to barber school after graduation. She owned her own barber shop in Williston, North Dakota. During that time, she also worked on the oil rigs with the seismograph crew. When living in Grand Forks, North Dakota she cut hair at the Air Force Base. Shelly was a Certified Nursing Assistant for a short time during her working career.
On August 19, 1980, Shelly married Mark Miller of Williston, ND, where they lived until they moved to Grand Forks, ND to work and be closer to family. They parted ways but Mark remained dear in Shelly’s heart.
Shelly lived in assisted living homes in Walker, Roseau, and most recently, Red Lake Falls. She loved spending time with the staff, residents and volunteers at Hillcrest.
Shelly’s hobbies and interests included: cooking, crafting, gardening, fishing and some deer hunting. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing games, cards, and bingo. Her love for animals was undeniable and her dog, Rascal, was her favorite.
Shelly is survived by siblings, Tony (Debra) Brennan of Buffalo, Dawn (Tracy) Kofstad of Warroad, Robert Jr (Renee) Davidson of Middle River; sisters-in-law, Deb Davidson of Thief River Falls, and Lori Davidson of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
Shelly is preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Hope; parents, Robert and Dolly Davidson; grandparents, Harry and Helen Dahl, Hilmer and Anna Davidson; brothers, David Davidson and Dean Davidson.
Shelly’s family would like to say thank you to all of the caregivers that were in her life. They are truly thankful for all of her wonderful and loving care over the years.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Holt Cemetery in Holt.
