St. Paul – With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our mother Phyllis Elaine (Mosbeck) Jones on Sunday, August 18, 2024 while in hospice care at Episcopal Church Homes in Saint Paul.
Phyllis was a devoted mother and wife who was always there to support her family. She was a free spirit always offering unwavering support and compassion for
others. We will miss her dearly.
Phyllis was born October 5, 1936 in Enderlin, ND to Delia Swapp.
She spent her early childhood in Fargo, North Dakota with her birth mother, grandmother, Eva (George) Swapp and sisters. She was adopted by Richard and Mable (Lindblom) Mosbeck of Polk Center Township in 1953. She graduated in 1954 from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Raymond Mosbeck on 23rd of September 1956. She was a homemaker, and worked over the years at Northwestern Hospital as a nurse’s aid, JCPenney in the
mail order department and Arctic Enterprises in computer support.
After the death of her husband (Raymond Mosbeck) in 1983, she lived in Lander, WY and Nachez, WA. Phyllis returned to Minnesota in 2002 where she loved to fish and volunteer in the computer lab in the Fosston school district. In 2021, she moved to Saint Paul to live with her daughter and family.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Steven Mosbeck (Debbie) of Spring, TX, and Raymond Mosbeck (Dania) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Nancy Mosbeck (Farries Morrison) of Saint Paul; grandchildren, Collette, Nigel, Griffin, Gwyneth, Christopher, Allison; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mable Mosbeck, husband Raymond Mosbeck, sisters, Charlotte (Dietz) Martin and Karen (Mosbeck) Vlam and brother Wesley Guetzkow.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 31st at Black River
Lutheran Church, followed by a celebration of life, also at Black River Church.
