Thief River Falls – Harold Green, 73, of Thief River Falls, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, with his loving family by his side.
Harold James Green was born on November 17, 1950, to Elmer and Irene (Sterger) Green in Thief River Falls. He attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating in 1968 from Lincoln High School.
Harold went on to attend AVTI in Thief River Falls for welding. He then went to work for NWECSU and the school district doing deliveries.
In 1971, Harold was united in marriage to Midge Burkholder at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Together they made their home in Thief River Falls and raised their two children, Stephanie and Paul.
Harold’s life passion was setting up at flea markets and selling toys. He enjoyed collecting toys and giving them away to kids. He loved going out to breakfast at the local VFW and visiting with as many people as possible. Harold especially enjoyed his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
Harold is survived by his children, Stephanie (Dan) Kormick and Paul Green; grandchildren, Tyler (Lydia) Kormick, Wyatt Kormick, Chaz (Katie) Green, Brady Green, and Rex Green; great-grandchildren, Aiden Kormick, Ellie Kormick, and Charlotte Green; sisters, Clara Nelson, Lois Erickson, and Laurie Wilson; sisters-in-law, Kay (John) Cory, Sharon Dahle, JoDee (Rick) Loll, Catherine Burkholder and Sharon Burkholder; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Midge; his parents; brothers, John, Daniel, Henry, and Charles Green; sisters, Mary Lou Larson and Joy Lynn; half-sister, Marlene Joliff; half-brothers, William and Elmer Jr; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Burkholder, Dennis Burkholder, and Rex Burkholder; and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls with Rev. Tim Lundeen officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
