Fargo, ND – Myrtle (Bondley) Robison passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the age of 99 surrounded by her family, at Bethany Retirement Living on University in Fargo, ND.
Myrt was born to Casper and Marie Bondley in Beach, ND on September 17, 1925, at an all-women’s hospital. The family moved from Wibaux, MT to the state of Washington for a short time before moving to a farm that Casper and Marie homesteaded in Thief River Falls.
Myrt graduated high school from Thief River Falls and also attended Interstate Business College. She met her future husband, Stanley Robison, at a dance in Thief River Falls and they were married on June 16, 1944; they were married for 71 years. Together they had three children, Linda, Gary and Annette.
Myrt and Stanley lived in various places around Minnesota before finally settling in Fargo, ND and building their home in rural Harwood, ND. She worked most notably at Northwestern Savings & Loan in Fargo for 27 years before retiring in 1985.
Myrt loved her flower gardens, vegetable gardens, canning, crocheting; and later she picked up Rosemaling and would paint on odds and ends of wood, cream cans and even paint sticks. Myrt loved to be around her family and was always up for an adventure!
Myrt is survived by her children, Gary (Gloria), Fargo, Annette (Tyler) Smedshammer, Cloquet; son-in-law, Rick Trottier, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Amber Trottier, Jessica Roden, Jeri Fossum, Dusty Robison, Travis Smedshammer and Alex Smedshammer; and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Hruby; and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to give special thanks to a very special nurse, Chelsea.
Myrt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Linda; two sisters, three brothers, seven brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 6:30–7 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m., at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10 a.m., at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
