Thief River Falls – Doris Florence Eggen, of Thief River Falls, passed away with her family by her side on May 9, 2025, at her residence at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 19 days.
Doris was born on March 21, 1933, in Grygla, to Adolph and Hulda (Rue) Christianson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in the Grygla area.
Throughout her life, Doris worked in a variety of roles that reflected her strong work ethic and dedication. She spent time working in the potato fields of North Dakota and later at Arctic Cat. Alongside her husband, Clifford Eggen, she also helped care for honeybees and accompanied him on trips to Texas as part of their beekeeping endeavors.
Doris found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed yard work and devoted herself to caring for her parents.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Kathy (Duane) Langness of Thief River Falls, Kaydell (Pat) Halling of Hawley, and Theresa (Ken) Witucki of Little Falls; grandchildren, Kelly Langness of Thief River Falls, Chris (Kelly) Langness of Phoenix, AZ, Kayla Hammond of Barnesville, Travis (Jana) Halling of Hawley, Hannah Enger (Dane Peterson) of Little Falls, and Sam Witucki of Little Falls; great-grandchildren, Paisyn, Huntley, Ayrrow, and Whityn Hammond, June and Dean Halling, Waylon, Tillie and Tessa Enger; sister-in-law, Joyce Brewster of Thief River Falls; and niece, Marcie (Gordy) Moe of East Grand Forks; including Kelly’s dog Zander; and many other relatives and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Hulda Christianson; husband, Clifford Eggen; sister, Edna Johnson; brothers, Neil and Eldon Christianson; and other friends, and relatives.
Visitation took place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Johnson Funeral Services.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Services, Thief River Falls. Lunch followed the service.
Burial was at St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery, Grygla.
