Norman Capistran, 101

Norman was born in Crookston, to Leo and Grace Capistran. After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy as WWII in the Pacific was being fought and began his career in Norfolk, VA. His various tours sent him to many destinations as he moved through the ranks to Master Chief and retired after 20-plus years in Norfolk.
He next became employed at the Norfolk Navy Supply Center where he stayed until retirement.
Norman enjoyed traveling with his wife Katherine, square dancing and having his grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit at his lake cottage to go boating and fishing.
Norman is survived by his son, Walter (Jeanne); grandsons, Adam (Julie), Nate (Jessica) and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Riley, Wesley, Brinley and Arabella; sisters, Ardis Leguee, Dorothy Denis, Marie (Marvin) St. Germaine and Rose Klebs; and brother, Dennis (Sherry) Capistran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Katherine (Sutton); brothers, Warren (WWII-France) and Ronald Capistran; and sister, Jeanette Panzer; nephews, David Capistran and Earl Panzer.
