Drayton, ND – Sharon E. Aaker, 62, of rural Drayton, North Dakota, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, North Dakota.
Sharon was born on January 29, 1963, the daughter of Norman and Audrey (Severson) Brodal in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was raised in North Dakota until the age of thirteen when Sharon and her mother moved to Bainbridge Island, Washington where she graduated high school in 1981. She returned to North Dakota and graduated from Devils Lake Community College in 1985 with an associate’s degree.
In 1985, Sharon also met the love of her life, Chuck Aaker. They were married on May 27, 1994, in Grand Forks, ND. They made their home in Grand Forks until moving to Newfolden, where Sharon worked as a paraprofessional at Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. They moved to Drayton, ND in October 2019.
Sharon loved to laugh and could find humor in even the most ordinary moments. Her joyful spirit will be deeply missed. Sharon enjoyed needle point, reading romance novels, gardening, especially her flower gardens. She enjoyed spending time with family and especially mother/daughter time with Brit.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Chuck Aaker; daughter, Brit Aaker; sisters, Susan (Kim) Maham and Shirley Hodek; nephews and niece, Kris (Melanie) Maham, Melissa (Robert Bassett) Hodek, Matthew Hodek; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; infant son and daughter; infant brother, Steven; mother and father-in-law; and brothers-in-law, Don Hodek and James Aaker.

Visitation will be held from 9–10 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND.
