Mount Dora, FL – Doris Marie Eisbrener, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the age of 101.
Born on May 3, 1924, in Chicago, IL, Doris was the daughter of Floryan and Joanna Szymanski. She grew up on a farm near Thief River Falls. Doris lived in the area until 1957 when she moved with her family to Chicago. She and her husband, Ray Eisbrener, returned to the Thief River Falls area in 1979. After Ray’s passing, Doris stayed in the area for a while and then moved to Richmond, IL for several years and she finally ended up residing in central Florida.
Throughout her life, Doris was a source of unwavering love, strength, and guidance to her family and friends. She married Raymond Eisbrener, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Together, they raised three children: Marie, Raymond, and Paul, who will forever be grateful for her love and support.
Doris had a passion for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, which she enjoyed with great enthusiasm. She was known for her volunteer work and received multiple awards for this work. Doris was particularly proud of her work at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and rectory in Thief River Falls, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and rectory in Richmond, IL. Her catch phrases “have happy days” and “that’s different” will always be remembered by those who knew her best.
In addition to her children, Doris is survived by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
A celebration of life to honor and celebrate Doris’ life will be held in Howey In The Hills, Florida, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1–3 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend to pay their respects and share their memories.
Burial will take place at a future to be determined date in Thief River Falls.
