Andover – Richard (Dick) John Larson passed away at his home in Andover, on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Richard was born on April 2, 1940, in Thief River Falls, to Ella Larson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958 and was employed as a computer programmer with Conwed Corp (St. Paul), a systems analyst for Federal Cartridge Corp (Arden Hills), and an IT manager with Murphy Warehouse (St. Paul) where he retired in 2006.
In November 1959, Richard married Ramona (Moni) Solem in St. Paul and raised two children; Candace Renken of Elko New Market, and Rick (Vilma) Larson of Richmond, TX. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Linsdey and Austin Renken; along with sisters, Lela Paetznick of Red Lake Falls, and LeAnn (Tim) Englestad of Thief River Falls.
Dick enjoyed traveling with his family to 49 US states (including numerous winter trips to South Padre Island, TX after his retirement), Canada, Mexico, Denmark and Norway. He loved watching movies and sports, especially Vikings football, Twins baseball and the MN HS Hockey Tournament.
During summer months, Dick would enjoy spending time at a cabin that he built with his family near Brainerd, where he played golf, dominoes, cards and board games, along with boating and fishing with family and friends. In the winter, he looked forward to snowmobiling on his Arctic Cats with family and friends and splitting wood for the fireplace.
Throughout the years he maintained more than 15 different cars over 60 years and loved eating lutefisk dinners, beef burritos, rhubarb pie and drinking Summer Shandy Leines. In his spare time, Dick like collecting coins, listening to rock music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, and never missed an opportunity to stop at Menard’s to pick up a few things for the house.
Richard will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was someone who always looked forward to helping other people and had a great sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held at the Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapel in Blaine. Additional details may be found at www.KozlakRadulovich.com when available.
