St. Hilaire – Mae Rolland, St. Hilaire, age 95 passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service was held Sunday, April 30, 2017,  at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Burial was held at Riverside Cemetery near St. Hilaire.
Mae Josephine Langevin was born on November 10, 1921 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Thiverge) Langevin. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Mae attended school in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1939 and after school she worked at a bakery.
In 1945, she was united in marriage to Merle Meredith Rolland. They made their home in St. Hilaire where Mae and Merle owned and operated the Champlin Oil Station until retiring in 1963. After that, she worked at St. Hilaire Supply until her retirement.
Mae was an excellent seamstress, had beautiful flower gardens, she enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling, knitting and crocheting but most of all loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include six children, Marlene (Vern) Nelson of Poland, OH, Sharel McVeigh of Milwaukee, WI, Chad (Patty) Rolland of Warren, Lori (Joel) Sorvig of Thief River Falls, Lee (Karen) Rolland of Thief River Falls, and Troy Rolland of St. Hilaire; grandchildren, Eric, Tami, Kelly, Casey, Dalton, Andrea, Cody, Kaeley, Skyler, and Race; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mitchell, and Stella.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Merle in 1990; and her 10 siblings.
