Thief River Falls – Margaret Moeglein of Thief River Falls, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, at the age of 79.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Father Rick Lambert officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday.
Margaret Alice Kiewel was born on September 28, 1939 in Little Falls, the daughter of Norman and Eleanor Kiewel. She attended school in Little Falls, graduating from Little Falls High School on May 31, 1956.
On Aug 8, 1959 Margaret was united in marriage to William Neil Moeglein in St. Paul.
Margaret and William were blessed with two sons: Marcus and Martin.
In 1974 Margaret began her career with the Thief River Falls Public Library as a Library Assistant. In 1979, she became the Bookmobile Librarian and started what was to be a longtime career as the “Bookmobile Lady.” She enjoyed working with her colleagues who drove the Bookmobile: Marvin Johnson, William Ulrich, George Sodon, and Richard McCloskey. The Bookmobile service was discontinued in September of 2003. Margaret retired on December 31, 2003.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Marcus Moeglein of Reynolds, ND and Martin (Rachael) Moeglein of Chanhassen; grandchild, Sydney Amundson of Chanhassen; her longtime companion, Bjorgulv Bolstad of Thief River Falls and siblings, John Kiewel of Maple Grove, David Kiewel of St. Paul, Alice Christenson of St. Paul, Franz Kiewel of St. Paul, Henry Kiewel of San Diego, CA, Paul Kiewel of San Diego, CA, Eleanore Reid of El Cajon, CA, and Richard Kiewel of Poway, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Eleanor Kiewel and her siblings, Robert Kiewel and Kathy Kiewel.
