Red Lake Falls – Terry Oakland, 58, of Red Lake Falls, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his residence in Red Lake Falls.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls. Burial will be at Bethania Cemetery (3 miles E of Perley) later in the spring.
Terry Lee Oakland was born January 11, 1960 in Maddock, ND, the son of Harold Arden and Velma (Kuvaas) Oakland. He was baptized in April, 1960 at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls. Terry attended school in Red Lake Falls, graduating from Lafayette High School in 1978. He received a two year degree in Restaurant/Management from the University of Minnesota, Crookston in 1981.
Terry was employed at Hardees in Thief River Falls, Assistant Manager of Hardees in Fairbault, R.B.J.s Restaurant in Crookston and he also farmed in Sanders Township, Pennington County. Terry enjoyed collecting coins and his 1955 Chevrolet-Nomads. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls.
Terry is survived by his mother, Velma Oakland, Red Lake Falls; many cousins, uncles and aunts, as well as friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Harold A. Oakland; grandparents, Alfred and Annie Kuvaas and Peter and Dagny Oakland.
