Memphis, TN – Wade Scott Erickson, age 54, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Blaine and later New Richmond, WI, passed away on June 18, 2018 from cancer.
A gathering of family and friends is planned for Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00pm at Roosters Roadhouse, 1767 County Road T, New Richmond, WI.
Wade was born in Thief River Falls on April 26, 1964. As a young child, his family moved to Blaine, where he attended school, wrestled and played football at Centennial High until he graduated in 1982. He worked as truck driver, in asbestos removal, in well pump repair and installation, and he was doing water restoration in Memphis.
Wade invented and patented what is now known as the “Belxx Multi-step” and enjoyed marketing it at Las Vegas trade shows until the invention sold. He loved auto racing, ice fishing, singing, and playing his guitars.
Wade is survived by his children Amanda (Preston) Gravely of Park Rapids, Stephanie (Bandith Hurd) Erickson of Lino Lakes, Benjamin Erickson of Circle Pines, and Hannah Erickson of Osceola, WI; stepdaughter Amy Davis of Cedar; his parents Margaret Erickson of Elk River and Mylan (Cynthia Kastens) Erickson of New Richmond, WI; special friend Anne Barstow of Memphis, TN; sisters DeNise (Shane) DeSmet of Ramsey, Shanon Fruth of Sauk Centre, and Jessica (Ross) Marotte of Park Rapids; 6 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Wade was preceded in death by his brother Rett Erickson of Princeton, his grandparents Kenneth and Annabelle Nelson, Raymond and Hilda Erickson, all of Strathcona.
