Marian Stark, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN, at the age of 92.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Bert Foster officiating. Burial will follow at the Viking Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Marian Elizabeth (Anderson) Stark was born on June 7, 1926 in Viking, the daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Tangquist) Anderson.  She attended Viking Elementary School and graduated from Newfolden High School.  Marian also attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis.
Marian worked one year at Northwestern National Life Insurance Co. in Minneapolis.  She worked six years at the Warren High School as secretary to Superintendent Eikenes.
On March 30, 1951 Marian was married to Dale Stark at the Covenant Church at Viking.  They lived by Angus for three years and moved to Numedahl Township where they farmed until they moved to Thief River Falls in 1968.  Marian worked for the TRF School District for 20 years.
They hosted six Laotian refugees in their home for several months.  They also went on short-term missionary projects in Haiti several times, the Pass, Manitoba and Missionary Press in Indiana and Bethel, Alaska.
Marian was a long-time member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls.
Marian was an energetic, big-hearted hard worker who loved to make other people happy.  She was devoted and faithful to her husband, family and church.  Marian enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with her family and friends, vegetable gardening, crafts, flowers, hosting family events, holidays with her family, winters in Texas and making shoe boxes for needy children.
Marian is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Wayne Stark, Grygla, MN, Ronn Stark, Eden Prairie, MN, Rudy Stark, Victor, MT, Carolyn (Charles) Maul, Bigfork, MN, and Sandra (David) Ostertag, Maplewood, MN; grandchildren, Shannon (Nathan) Wehr, Theresa (Jonas Hans) Stark, Gwendolyn (Benjamin) Hackett, Michael ( Lindsay) Imgrund, Dillon Ostertag, and Sara Ostertag; great-grandchildren, Arie, Travis, Dawson, Asher, and Alec Wehr, Ida, Bridget, and Sterling Hackett, Oliver Hans, and Henrick Imgrund; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Thelma (Marvin) Anderson and Arlys (Don) Olson.
