Thief River Falls – Lorraine Dallmann, 82, Thief River Falls, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Valley Home, Thief River Falls.
Celebration Service was held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Burial was at Black River Cemetery, rural St. Hilaire.
Lorraine Ardis Peterson was born on February 17, 1936 to Clarence L. and Emma (Christopherson) Peterson in Silverton Township. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Silverton Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls. She attended Elwell School, Knox Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954. She was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company in Thief River Falls.
Lorraine was united in marriage to Warren Mosbeck on September 18, 1955. To this union 5 children were born: Judy, Gary, Lynn, Gene and Joni. They resided in Polk Centre Township for 35 years where they farmed until Warren died in 1990. Lorraine moved into Thief River Falls in 1992. She was a secretary for Cenex Propane.
On May 1, 1993 Lorraine married Fred Dallmann at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. They were wonderful companions and enjoyed traveling together. Fred died on March 17, 2017.
Lorraine was a former member of the Black River Lutheran Church where she was active in the WELCA, a Sunday School Teacher, and a project leader for the Black River 4-H Clubs. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Silverton Home Study Group, Sons of Norway, Pioneer Farmers, Pioneer Village, Heritage Center, and was a volunteer at Valley Home. She was also active in the Christian Women’s Club. She helped make many quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Lorraine loved to read, she loved music, she was a good listener, and she was known for always giving good hugs.
Lorraine is survived by children, Judy (Gary) Heaton of Mandan, ND, Gary Mosbeck of Red Lake Falls, Lynn (Rob) LaCoursiere of Red Lake Falls, Gene (Susan) Mosbeck of Thief River Falls and Joni (Jerry) Ortlepp of East Bethel; many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; siblings, Pearl Johnson, Arnold (Marian) Peterson, Margaret Rupprecht, Carol (Roger) DeLap, Joyce Sang; and many other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by husbands, Warren Mosbeck and Fred Dallmann; parents; sister, Irene Johnson; brothers-in-law, Donald Rupprecht, Ronald Johnson, John Sang and Irwin Johnson; daughter-in-law, Lyla Mosbeck.
